Walking my baby back home

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  Sept, 2005

There are times when it is difficult to transport an infant in a stroller. We've all been in crowded department stores where carriages simply cannot be maneuvered through jam-packed aisles. In buildings without elevators, even one flight of stairs is too many. Did you ever try to push a stroller during a leisurely hike when mud, rocks, or narrow paths make it impossible to move?

At times like those, we love the Children's Accessories Infant Carrier ($59.99) by Eddie Bauer, distributed by the Dorel Juvenile Group, Columbus, Ind. Eddie Bauer long has been known for its better-quality baby products and this infant carrier does not disappoint. The extra-wide padded shoulder strap and back support make it comfortable to carry a child from eight to 26 pounds.

Younger babies should be carried facing in towards the adult, using the leg opening and height adjustments to accommodate smaller children. The carrier has a wrap-around head support for infants, which gets folded down for older babies. Once the child is able to hold his or her head and neck up unassisted, the baby can be carried in the facing-out position.

We found the carrier easy to use with its front-adjustable straps and dual-side entry system. The padded fabric is machine washable and it has a zippered storage pocket which is handy for carrying keys, cell phones, etc.

So, when space limitations, stairs, terrain, or anything else are impediments to your travel, strap on this invaluable accessory and regain the freedom to walk, shop, clean house, etc. For more information, visit www.djgusa.com/eddiebauer.
