Stay in step with wood

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  July, 2005

There's just something about wood--perhaps its textured, rich surface or eye-catching grain patterns--that make it appealingly irresistible. We especially enjoy when the wonders of wood are used in unanticipated ways and unexpected places--take step stools, for instance. The image that immediately comes to mind is that of a utilitarian metal folding unit that tucks away in a hidden corner until needed.

Cosco Home & Office Products, Columbus, Ind., would have none of that, though, when it introduced its Rockford Series 2-Step and 3-Step Wood Step Stools made of classic wood that coordinate well with any home decor. Each model features large 13" x 9" platform steps, safety rails for climbing ease, and locking top steps for added security. They come with a 10-year limited warranty and are the only ANSI-rated wood step stools on the market. Available in mahogany or oak, the Rockford Series retails for $59.99-79.99.
