Skybox Rookie Fridge proves perfect roomie

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  July, 2005

An essential for dorm living, a refrigerator can keep a coed sane, whether in need of a cold soda, midnight snack, or just a break from the dining hall fare. New from Maytag, Newton, Iowa, is a customizable mini-fridge on wheels--the SkyBox Rookie Fridge--which just might be the perfect college roommate.

In contrast to the common, plain white dorm fridge, the SkyBox Rookie makes a personal statement with a striking backlit display panel which can be customized with a choice of 225 sports branding kits including favorite NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, or NASCAR driver logos.

On four, heavy-duty casters, the unit can be moved easily from room to room and features a flip-top storage bin for bowls of snacks or keeping drinks on ice for easy grab-and-go serving. Measuring 38" high and 20" wide, the fridge has a 2.8 cubic foot capacity--enough to hold four cases of beverages.

The SkyBox Rookie Fridge retails for $199, with the personalized sports panels running $29. For more information, visit www.skyboxmaytag.com.
