Block the sun, not the fun

USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education),  July, 2005

Although the primary cause is known--excessive sun exposure--skin cancer is increasing at a faster rate than any other cancer. Overexposure to sunlight in childhood widely is accepted as the underlying cause and experts believe that, by providing children with sun protection at an early age, four out of five cases could be prevented. One company dedicated to this cause is Sunwise Swimwear, Boca Raton, Fla., the leading supplier of surfer-like wetsuits" for children.

Using a tightly woven chemical-free fabric to block 98% of the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays, these swimsuits provide children with continuous SPF50 protection. This season's stylish new additions include the Beach Princess design for girls in bright pink, blue, and purple with a slight ruffle skirt; [H.sub.2]O Rescue for boys, with bold tri-colored panels and a rescue logo to fuel young imaginations; and, for infants--finally--snaps for easy diaper changes.

Sunwise Swimwear, priced from $19.99-29.99, can be found at leading retailers or online at www.sunwiseswimwear.com.
