Super Soaker SoakerTag frenzy
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), July, 2005
Already well known for its ability to achieve incredible soakage at maximum distances, the Super Soaker brand by Hasbro, Pawtucket, R.I., has added three new SoakerTag Elite water blasters to its already indomitable line.
(Introduced early last year, "SoakerTag--The Ultimate Water Survival Game" redefined how water fights are fought and won. SoakerTag is played with body targets that players fasten to their body or clothes. The object is to eliminate your opponents by blasting and dissolving their targets before they get yours.) First up is Flash Flood ($19.99), which provides players with two different options for drenching opponents: blast out a constant stream by pulling the trigger or pull back on the Flash Flood trigger to release a huge explosion of water that reaches up to 35 feet. This mighty impressive blaster features a quick-fill cap, holds 40 ounces of water, and comes with 10 SoakerTag Body Targets, as does the Arctic Shock ($14.99).
However, the Shock showcases an innovative Ice Core for a fun and frigid blast. Simply fill the Ice Core with water, pop it in the freezer, and then add it to the water tank when you're ready to play. Your goose-bumped opponents will never know what hit them.
Just hope they don't retaliate with the Aquapack Devastator ($29.99), the ultimate in ammo supply, as this powerful soaker gun hooks up to a watertight backpack that holds over 100 ounces of water so shooters hardly will ever have to stop for a refill. And when they do, there's no need to remove the backpack--just insert the hose into the quick-fill cap, fill 'er up, and take off. Devastator also comes with 20 SoakerTag Body Targets and the patented Constant Pressure System, ensuring that the last drop of water shoots out as powerfully as the first.
