Shower power
USA Today (Society for the Advancement of Education), May, 2004
Unhappy about the output from your shower? If so, there's an old adage that, even though it's out of context, readily applies: Two heads are better than one. In this case, we're talking about the Massaging Wall Mounted Twin Shower Heads from Conair Corporation, Stamford, Conn.
As the rather unwieldy--albeit informative--name suggests, there are two showerheads mounted on a single crossbar. Each pivots independently, allowing you to swivel it in whatever direction you choose, either providing two distinct flows or converging to create a doubled stream directed at one specific part of your body. Moreover, each head offers a trio of options--jet massage, full body spray, or a combination of both. As a result, you can choose from nine different options by adjusting the two heads' settings. (Do the math.) From invigorating to relaxing, your shower will suit your mood--or improve it!
Replacing your current showerhead is as simple as unscrewing the old one and screwing in the twin-headed model. A rubber sleeve and Teflon tape prevent the new installation from leaking, while the ball joint on the crossbar allows you to direct the stream(s) in virtually any direction but straight up. The built-in water saver restricts the flow to an ecologically friendly 2.5 gallons per minute. (You didn't hear it here, but for those who can't stand a puny spray, removing this insert allows the full massage intensity the instrument is designed for.)
The twin showerheads come in chrome or white high-impact plastic for a suggested $59.99 at plumbing, department, home furnishings, and hardware stores, as well as mass merchandisers.
