The name, Mark It Right, pretty much says it all. This practical and multifunctional tool from Intromark, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa., can be used as a straight edge, measuring device, or general-purpose level to hang pictures straight and ensure that shelves are level and plumb. It consists of a lightweight, rectangular aluminum bar and two plastic sliders. Each slider displays a pair of liquid vials, which are used as a level--allowing the user to make sure all marks are straight horizontally and vertically. A nonslip foam rubber pad prevents scratches and scuffs to the wall, while plastic caps keep sliders on the end of the bar when not locked in place. Every bar features a scale with a 1/8-inch graduation.
Using Mark It Right's three-foot model is easy. The plastic sliders align with the hooks or keyholes on the back of an object and lock into place. Once the sliders are secured into position, level marks can be made on the wall, and screws or nails can be inserted there.
This handy device retails for $17.95 and can be ordered directly from Intromark at 800-851-6030.
