Ordained forever

Commonweal,  Sept 10, 2004  by Donald W. Montrose

Andrew Greeley's article in favor of priestly term limits ("A Priest Forever?" July 16) makes no sense. Holy Orders is like Baptism or Confirmation: once you are baptized and confirmed, you are baptized and confirmed for ever. After a priest or deacon is ordained, he is ordained forever. When a person dies and enters the next life, the indelible marks of these sacraments remain.
