In his image

Surely the world is correct in the honors it has paid to John Paul II. And your contributors are, for the most part, rightly generous in their estimation of this courageous person ("John Paul II," April 22). The irony is that he leaves a church of bishops and cardinals not in his image, but in the image of his successor, Joseph Ratzinger, Benedict XVI.
