Post-Katrina resources for artists

Art in America,  Nov, 2005

State and local arts agencies, foundations and other philanthropic organizations have moved quickly to identify and respond to the needs of artists affected by the Gulf Coast hurricanes. The following list of resources is offered as a starting point for anyone seeking information. Pertinent Web sites should be checked periodically, as programs continue to be introduced and re-thought. As the magazine goes to press, for example, Grantmakers in the Arts, a national organization of private and corporate foundations supporting art and culture, has added a session to the program of its annual conference in Pasadena (Oct. 16-19) that will consider how best to coordinate responses in times of "extreme emergency."
