Paper doves on winter branches

For a festive idea with minimalist Zen appeal, fill a glass vase with pearly ornaments (similar vase and ornaments available from Ikea, www.ikea.com or 800/434-4532) and a few bare branches from your garden or a florists' supply store. Arrange on a mantel, and position votives or paper cube lights ($189; Zinc Details, 415/776-2101) along the ledge. Decorate with paper doves (instructions at right).
