Empire of jazz

Another great jazz festival (June, page 150) is the Riverside Jazz Festival, held in the beautiful and historic concert shell at Fairmount Park in downtown Riverside, California. This year the festival (from $40 per day; www.riversidejazzfestival.com) is September 24-25, a fabulous time for the Inland Empire--warm during the day but pleasant in the evening.
