* July 29. Come on. You know you've always wanted to build a miniature Devils Tower out of mashed potatoes. Or maybe you'd like to commemorate your beloved with a raw potato bust? Here's your chance. The fourth annual Spud Art contest in Twin Falls, Idaho, invites pros and amateur artists to compete for prizes with totally tuberous creations.
Raw potato carvings are completed beforehand; mashed potato sculptors work on the spot. And no, you don't get to eat the creations afterwards. (208) 736-1773.
