Around the leaque
The verdict is in, and a bad shoulder has effectively KO'd Chris Webber for the season. Webber was determined to play with the trick shoulder until common sense prevailed. He underwent corrective surgery last week, the same surgery Pacers forward Dale Davis had last year. Davis, who also was hampered by a chronically separated shoulder, hasn't had any problems since. ... Come to think of it, you think Don Nelson has a Webber doll and is sticking pins in its shoulder?... Larry Bird is right. Dee Brown should be more concerned about improving his game, particularly since he is the Celtics' captain, instead of trying to get himself traded. ... Glory? Power? Wizards? Ravens? Washington needs to reopen its nickname contest, because those finalists are the pits.
