HAPPY and ARTIE TRAUM, Hard Times in the Country, (Rounder 3007). Originally released in 1975, Hard Times in the Country was Happy and Artie's third duo LP. Reissued three decades later, it remains a strong set mixing original material, including Happy's delightful tribute to Mississippi John Hurt, with interpretations of traditional and other contemporary material.
The settings range from minimalist acoustic tracks to arrangements reminiscent of The Band, their then Woodstock neighbors.
