Freedom Train
Sing Out! The Folk Song Magazine, Winter, 2006
Songs of freedom have long used the biblical Exodus tale as a metaphor for contemporary struggle and deliverance. With "Freedom Train," songwriters Kate Campbell and Kevin Gordon set the freedom song form into a contemporary Americana roots arrangement. The third verse balances the historical perspective of the first two with a hopeful vision of the future.
