Santa Rita
National Catholic Reporter, June 27, 2008 by David Ray
Santa Rita On my doggie walk I came across a brochure with a portrait of a saint upon its cover, and inside was a prayer, but t glanced and tossed away what I saw as nothing but litter. Minutes later I decided to go back and rescue what might after all be of value. And indeed it is. The vivid portrait was that of Santa Rita, for whom the mountains south of us in Tucson are named. Not only that, but she is the saint of impossibilities, and I cannot imagine anyone whose blessings I need more, and thus I have said my first prayers to beautiful Santa Rita.
