Protesting Roe v. Wade

Christian Century,  Feb 8, 2003

PROTESTING ROE V. WADE: Cardinal Theodore McCarrick of Washington, D.C., speaks to participants of the "Rally for Life and Youth Mass 2003" at the capital's convention center January 22. The Catholic prelate took part in the March for Life from the Washington Monument to the Supreme Court building.

As both sides in the abortion debate staged demonstrations on the 30th anniversary of the Supreme Court's pro-choice Roe v. Wade ruling, abortion opponents, with support from the Bush administration, were newly optimistic about reversing that ruling--one step at a time.
