> EARLY-CHURCH DISCOVERY: Two prison inmates clean a mosaic on the floor of what is believed to be an ancient church in Megiddo, Israel, November 6. Dating back to the third or fourth century, the newly discovered church is on the site of one of Israel's maximum-security prisons. Excavations inside Megiddo Prison in northern Israel unearthed the remains of a structure which included a mosaic with inscriptions in Greek and depictions of two fish (see inset), an ancient Christian symbol.
