Not a churchgoer, says Thompson
Christian Century, Oct 2, 2007
Though considered a potential favorite among Bible Belt conservative voters in the presidential primaries, ex-senator and actor Fred Thompson told Republicans in South Carolina on September 10 that he is not a regular churchgoer and does not plan to talk about his beliefs in the campaign.
Baptized in the Church of Christ, Thompson said that though he attends church when visiting his mother in Tennessee, he does not belong to a church or regularly attend any where he lives in McLean, Virginia. He added, "I know I'm right with God and the people I love," according to Bloomberg News Service.
