According to Greg Wolf, President, Gerber Scientific Products, "The SOLARA UV family represents Gerber Scientific's initial thrust into the rapidly growing inkjet market for durable graphics. The SOLARA UV2 extends the capability of the SOLARA platform and can print directly to both rigid and roll-to-roll materials, providing enhanced productivity versus competitive inkjets."

Wolf continued, "The unique properties of UV inks allow easy maintenance with low odor, without ventilation requirements or harmful volatile organic compounds. This offers an ideal solution for sign shops struggling to solve problems presented by solvent ink technology. Gerber's exclusive inkset and multi-drop technology also allow SOLARA UV2 to produce a broad range of beautiful and vibrant colors that are critical to the production of stunning signs and specialty graphics."

As noted by Brad Ward, production manager for The Sign Shop, Birmingham, Alabama, "The colors we are getting out of the SOLARA UV2 are amazing -- we are printing reds and other colors that our solvent printer couldn't even dream of hitting."

Marc T. Giles, president and CEO of Gerber Scientific, Inc. added, "Gerber Scientific is committed to launch several new products that support each of our business units. The introduction of the SOLARA UV2 is a major step towards this effort."
