The Sacramento Municipal Utility District will release a request for offers of renewable energy for power purchase agreements and offers for SMUD's project ownership options.
According to SMUD, The RFO will help identify potential renewable energy contracts to help the utility meet its renewable portfolio standard goals.
SMUD has an annual incremental renewable energy goal and a specific target to meet 23% of its retail electricity sales with renewables by 2011 and beyond.
