Sustainable Energy Announces Production Start-up in Spain

Renewable Energy Today,  May 18, 2006

Calgary, Alberta-based Sustainable Energy Technologies, Ltd. recently announced that its partner Gabriel Benmayor, SA has begun manufacturing SUNERGY inverters at its production facility near Barcelona, Spain.

According to Sustainable Energy, the first product to be fabricated at the plant is a five-kilowatt, grid-interactive inverter for the Spanish grid-connected solar power market. Sustainable Energy noted that the production facility has the capacity to assemble and test up to 100 units per month.

"The SUNERGY '5' is well suited to the Spanish environment as it operates at full power over extended periods of time and in ambient temperatures in excess of 50 degrees Celsius," said Sustainable Energy. "Its patented approach to power conversion also enables the inverter to maintain very high electrical conversion efficiencies at full power, notwithstanding variable voltage inputs from the solar modules."
