Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedORTECH, DEWI Join to Advise North American Wind Sector
Renewable Energy Today, Feb 28, 2006
Canada's ORTECH Power and the German Wind Energy Institute (DEWI) recently announced a joint agreement to provide a range of technical advisory services to the North American wind industry.
ORTECH and DEWI noted that the companies will focus their energies on helping reduce uncertainty in energy output estimates, promoting consistent technical standards and improving the understanding of marketplace operating risks.
"Thanks to years of hard work by our industry associations and supportive policy makers, the wind sector is now a $1-billion-plus-per-year investment market in North America," said ORTECH president Uwe Roeper. "With wind energy moving mainstream, we must increase the level of technical know-how to better manage potential sector risks and uncertainties to ensure continued growth and success of the industry."
