Konarka Receives $20 Million in Latest Round of Financing

Solar technology developer Konarka Technologies, Inc. recently announced it has raised $20 million in venture capital financing.

According to Konarka, the financing was led by venture capital and private equity firm 3i. Existing investors, including Draper Fisher Jurvetson, New Enterprise Associates, Good Energies, Vanguard Ventures, Partech International and Chevron Technology Ventures, also participated in the round.

Konarka said it plans to use the funding to accelerate further growth, continue to execute on its global partnering strategy, and support ongoing research and development efforts.

Concurrent with the funding, Konarka noted that 3i partner Marko Maschek and Advanced Capital Markets managing director Michael Ware, who represents Good Energies, have joined the company's board.
