The Mobile Media Company, an independent provider of global wireless games, interactive entertainment services, and marketing applications, announced an agreement with Kyocera Communication Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to offer its mobile entertainment services across the WebW@lkers platform.
Through Kyocera's directory portal, WebW@lkers, mobile users in the Asia Pacific region can receive information, mobile content, entertainment, and communication services. As a result of this partnership, consumers will now have access to Mobile Media's extensive collection of mobile entertainment services.
WebW@lkers is already available to 3.3 million subscribers in Singapore, through three mobile operators--Singapore Telecommunications Limited, MobileOne (Asia) Pte Ltd, and StarHub Pte Ltd--and is now accessible to 22 million subscribers in Thailand via the top three mobile operators in the area--AIS, DTAC and TA Orange. With a combined subscriber access base of 25.5 million, WebW@lkers is planning to launch its services in Australia, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines within the next six to nine months.
"The research firm the ACR Group predicts that the number of people using mobile entertainment could reach up to 1.6 billion by the end of next year," says David J Wong, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Media Asia Pacific. "Moreover, the Asia Pacific region remains one of the world's fastest growing markets, with Australia alone predicted to have 17 million mobile phone users by 2007. With this growth comes an increasing demand for relevant and entertaining mobile content, which we are delighted to provide to Kyocera for distribution via their WebW@lkers platform." Mobile Media has a wide range of mobile java games and entertainment applications, including the largest collection of 3G games and applications outside of Japan. This collection is available to mobile operators, service providers, and portal operations on a local, regional, and international level.
