The stone age revisited: express your individuality with gorgeous gems that reveal their earthy origins - Fashion Signature
Natural Health, Oct, 2003 by Pauline Leonard
"Not on one strand are all life's jewels strung," said the 19th-century English poet William Morris, who clearly never saw any of these bracelets. But the sheer concentration of gems, though impressive, isn't what makes these pieces unique. The quality of the stones--the imperfect, earthy unfussiness--is what catches the eye. "There's an intentional use of flawed stones to highlight their natural beauty," says Rory Moore, a Los Angeles-based industry representative. "The unrestricted, organic shapes and handcrafted looks enhance the effect."

Like organic shapes, gold is becoming increasingly popular, according to Moore. "It lends a warmth to both the stones and your complexion." Look for thin, delicate gold chains that "seem to melt into your skin and draw that much more attention to the stones," she suggest.
