Nightshade no-no - Letters to the Editor - Letter to the Editor

Natural Health,  Sept, 2003  by Deborah Thornton

I read "'Free Yourself from Joint Pain Forever" (July 2003) with interest because so many of my family and friends suffer from osteoarthritis. But unfortunately the author neglected to mention that nightshade vegetables should be avoided. Prescription for Natural Healing by Balch and Balch recommends leaving tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplants out of an arthritis-relieving diet. The people to whom I've recommended this diet have found great relief.
