Another reason to eat your spinach

Natural Health,  June, 2004

ANOTHER REASON TO EAT YOUR SPINACH A diet rich in folate helps reduce the risk of ovarian cancer by up to 33 percent, according to a large-scale study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Study author Susanna Larsson says that oranges, berries, green leafy vegetables and whole grains are good sources of this B vitamin.

To get your recommended 400 daily micrograms, add one orange (39 mcg) and one cup each of spinach (58 mcg), broccoli (55 mcg) and black beans (256 mcg) to your menu.
