Peak performance: what's the best time of day to work out?

Natural Health,  April, 2005

Your body may naturally favor late afternoon, according to new research from the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. A study of 4,835 adults found that lung function peaks from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., which allows the body to take in 15 percent to 20 percent more air than at other times during the day.

If your work schedule doesn't jibe with a teatime exercise session, try grabbing just 10 minutes for a brisk walk.
