Female and Forgetful. - book review
Natural Health, April, 2002 by Karen English
BY ELISA LOTTOR, PH.D., N.D., AND NANCY P. BRUNING
WARNER BOOKS; $13.95
While they don't deny that menopause is responsible for some memory lapses, these authors focus on the many non-hormonal reasons why a woman's body may betray her brain, such as nutritional deficiencies and poor circulation. Lottor, a naturopathic physician, and Bruning, a medical writer, have worked out a six-step program for restoring memory. Their catalog of herbs, supplements, and kitchen-shelf remedies alone makes this book a valuable reference, and the brain-boosting recipes are an unexpected bonus. Although many of the remedies and countermeasures the authors suggest in this helpful book are tailored for women, others will also be helpful to men.
