Evan Powell constructs a novel solution to the synoptic problem in The Myth of the Lost Gospel (Symposium, $16. He argues that Q is an unnecessary reconstruction, based on his conclusion that Matthew is the last Gospel written, essentially a rewriting of Luke. Interesting, if not entirely persuasive. EK
