Quickest little workout

Muscle & Fitness/Hers,  Feb, 2004

I like the "Minimum Time, Maximum Effort" [November 2003] article. It's always nice to have new ideas for cardio bursts in between strength-training exercises. Best of all, it's good to see fitness models instead of mostly fitness professionals. Most of my clients are women in their late 40s to early 50s. Your magazine will appeal to more of these ladies than it has in the past. Please continue to include real-life, middle-aged women in your issues. After all, the gym is full of middle-aged women aiming to be fit for life!

We received an overwhelming response to the redesign of our magazine, which was introduced in the November 2003 issue. Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming! Here are just a few of the comments you sent us:

WOW! That's all I could say when, after a few seconds, I recognized that the amazing cover was actually M & F HERS! Your previous cover style was great, but I'm actually a lot more impressed with this one because it's more natural. The model doesn't look so styled and "pose-y" like the previous ones but real, like one of us. She actually looks like she just finished an awesome workout! You guys really make it beautiful for a woman to have muscles and be proud of them!

I just received the November 2003 issue of M & F HERS. What have you done? I think change is a necessary part of life, and I embrace it, but I must say that I don't think your new look is a change for the better. I think the new logo and new magazine format lack style, to say the least. On a brighter note, the content is still as great as ever.

I just want to let you know that I love the new design and cover of your magazine. For a while, I kept searching in the magazine stands for the new issue and didn't realize that the M & F HERS was what it was! Last year, I started getting into a stricter workout routine to build more tone and muscle. I picked up your December 2002 issue and have been buying your magazine ever since. Not only has it helped me become more focused and determined, it's also helped me to become more informed about my fitness, health and diet habits. With your new design, I believe more females will be attracted to the cover and the wide variety of topics. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next issue!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I LOVE the new look of your magazine. Before, the layout intimidated me and I'd skip over it. But now, I really feel like this is a magazine that would appeal to me, especially because the cover model looks real. Her figure looks like something I'm interested in achieving--not too muscular and not stick thin. Thank you for putting achievable physique goals on your cover. I'm subscribing today!

I would just like to comment on the November issue. I've been a longtime supporter of your magazine and I love the new look. I think the revamping of M & F HERS was a great idea in keeping up with the changes in fitness. I can't wait to try my new workout tips.

The makeover to your magazine cover is fantastic! The new cover is more appealing to the majority of "women who want more out of fitness." I look forward to every issue and tear through it the first night I get it. I'm waiting for you to become a monthly magazine--too much time goes by between issues!
