Luba Cherbakov

IBM Global Services, 6710 Rockledge Dr., Bethesda, Maryland 20817 (lubacher@us.ibm.com). Ms. Cherbakov, an IBM Distinguished Engineer, is a technical leader in Application Innovation Services, IBM Global Services. She is a recognized expert in the architecture, design, and development of complex enterprise applications, using service-oriented and component-based methods. She is also an author, an advocate, and a contributor to the Service-Oriented Modeling and Architecture (SOMA) method, reference architecture assets, the Architectural Description Standard, and grid computing offerings. A member of IEEE Computer Society and ACM, Ms. Cherbakov has a Master's degree in computer science from George Washington University, with a major in software and systems and a minor in artificial intelligence and simulation.

George Galambos

IBM Global Services, 1250 Blvd. Rene Levesque O., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, H3B 4W2 (galambos@ca.ibm.com). Dr. Galambos is an IBM Fellow, the Chief Technology Officer of IBM Global Services Canada and an active architect. He has made significant contributions to systems design, quantitative system analysis, and system design methods, laying the foundation for high quality solutions for IBM customers. In recent years he has been exploring the topic of practical sharing and reuse of system design knowledge and is a coauthor of the book Patterns for e-business. Dr. Galambos is currently applying his design experience to the development and deployment of new technologies, such as Web services and service-oriented architectures, and he continues to explore the gaps between business goals and IT's support for these goals.

Ray Harishankar

Mr. Harishankar is Service Area Executive, Architecture and Technology Center of Excellence, IBM Global Services. In that role, he leads a team of experienced IT architects in providing support for client engagements. With over 22 years of industry experience, he is highly skilled and experienced in the design, delivery, and support of complex IT solutions that integrate multiple leading technologies. He has made significant contributions in a number of areas, including on demand architectures, reference architectures, and enterprise technology architectures. As the technology leader within the IBM Business Consulting Services on demand leadership team, he has been leading work related to bridging business and IT. More specifically, his focus and contributions have been in the areas of Component Business Modeling, on demand operating environment architectures and in the linking of Component Business Modeling to service-oriented architectures. In April 2003, he was nominated for the title of IBM Distinguished Engineer, and in the same year he was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology. He is a two-time recipient of the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. He has a Master's degree in physics and electronics from Madras University and a Master's degree in computer science from Ohio State University.
