Airman, Nov, 2004 by Cary Coller
As a Senior NCO in the U.S. Army, I must say that I was extremely impressed with the skills of Master Sgt. T.J. Jones as I read "Convoy Protectors" [August 2004]. We in the Army don't generally think of Airmen as being as tactically proficient as we are when it comes to escorting convoys--this story opened my eyes. I think we selfishly think such tactical missions belong exclusively to our branch, or the Marines.
The professionalism of the convoys described in the article rivals that of any unit I've been assigned to--specifically Sergeants Jones' leadership. Thanks for a great article with vivid writing--I felt as though I was riding in the convoy along with the Airmen.
