New venues added for specialty assembly information

AORN Journal,  July, 2005

In conjunction with a new membership dues structure that provides all AORN members with a specialty assembly membership at no additional cost, AORN is creating an expanded version of AORN Connections. Specialty assembly members will serve as expert clinical resources for articles pertaining to particular specialties. AORN will provide professional news department staff members to develop and edit the content into quality news articles for publication.

The additional pages in AORN Connections will take the place of the specialty assembly quarterly newsletters beginning this month. By bringing the specialty content into one publication with a Larger distribution, AORN's goal is to integrate these diverse communities into the Association and expose more members to the benefits of networking within individual practice areas.

In addition, each specialty assembly will have a web-based community that will serve as a communication platform for members across the country to share ideas, stories, and information. Specialty assembly facilitators will post assembly information, articles of interest, and business to the web portals. The web portals arrow specialty assemblies the flexibility to post information any time with a goat of delivering fresh content on a regular basis to meet members' needs.
