The Home Improvement Research Institute predicts a 3.5% rise in sales of home improvement products this year. The professional remodeler market is expected to outpace the consumer segment again this year, due to renovations funded by mortgage financing. Longer term, HIRI forecasts industry growth to average 3.3% a year through 2007.
