Better Nutrition, Sept, 2000
Dear Better Nutrition,
Will you please send me information on where I can obtain OptiMSM made by Cardinal Nutrition? I went to my nutrition center in Orange, CA, and they didn't appear to have it. I am 70 years old and am suffering from osteoarthritis, which I think would be improved with this product.
Incidentally, I love Better Nutrition because when I read it each month, I become more knowledgeable about all of the ways to achieve good health.
Thank you.
Marie Robles Orange, CA

We checked with Cardinal Nutrition, which informed us that Country Life and Enzymatic Therapy are two companies which use the OptiMSM ingredient. We also checked with your health-food store (Licata's Orange Nutrition Center), and they do carry these brands. They'll be looking forward to your next visit.
We love you, too, Ms. Robles. Thanks!
Dear Better Nutrition,
Up until this time, I have been picking up Better Nutrition from a store on North Capitol Avenue, in San Jose, CA. Tomorrow is this store's last day of doing business. Do you know of any store in San Jose where I can regularly get your magazine?
Please advise.

We went on to-the Better Nutrition magazine web site (www.betternutrition.com) and used the "Find a Local Health Food Store" search engine. The closest stores to your exact Zip code which carry Better Nutrition are: Country Village Natural Food (on South Bascom Avenue; phone: 408-377-1431) and Down to Earth (on Meridian Avenue; phone: 408-993-2211).
Dear Better Nutrition,
In his article in your July issue ("Be a `liver lover' with alpha-lipoic acid"), Dr. Berkson refers to two "liver disease" patients in his care during his residency in 1977. Since there are so many different liver diseases, each with its own mechanism, I would like to know what specific liver diseases the two patients had who were cured by alpha lipoic acid.

Feel free to e-mail Dr. Berkson for information about alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) therapy or usage, since he is one of the world's two leading experts on this versatile antioxidant. His e-mail address is: burt@zianet.com.
