Vegetarian vacation destination in France
Vegetarian Journal, May-June, 2003
Offering only vegetarian world cuisine, La Maison Du Vert is a newly refurbished guesthouse and restaurant in the French province of Normandy. Two hours from Paris, the hotel is in close proximity to the historic cities of Honfleur, Bayeux, and Caen, as well as to tourist attractions like the D-Day landing beaches and Monet's garden.
All of the food served in the hotel's restaurant is homemade fresh with organic produce, whenever possible, and there is always at least one vegan option on the menu. Previous vegan items have included vegetarian sushi; polenta and roasted vegetables; aubergine (eggplant) and sweet potato bake with green olive sauce; and desserts, such as garden pears in local cider with almond cream, and oranges in Grand Marnier with chocolate sauce. The restaurant even uses vegan wines and ciders in their recipes.
For more information, you can visit the hotel's website at <www.maisonduvert.com>, or contact them at info@maisonduvert.com or 011-33-2-33-36-95-84. You also may write La Maison Du Vert, H6tel Restaurant Vegetarien, Ticheville, 61120 Vimoutiers, Normandie, France.
