VRG presents at national meetings

VRG Nutrition Advisor Suzanne Havala Hobbs, DrPH, RD, joined Margo Wooten, DSc, of the Center for Science in the Public Interest in presenting a session titled "The Impact of Interest Groups on Federal Food and Nutrition Policy Throughout the Lifecycle" at the annual meeting of the American Dietetic Association in Philadelphia.
The Vegetarian Resource Group exhibited at the conference, which drew over 11,000 dietitians and health professionals, and distributed sample copies of Vegetarian Journal and vegetarian nutrition education materials. Suzanne also presented a session tided "The Influence of Interest Groups on Federal School-Meals Regulations, 1992-1996" at the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association, held in Philadelphia. The session, part of a series of presentations on food and nutrition policy, was presented to a packed room of public health professionals, some of whom stood or sat on the floor.
