Q: How long did the operation take?

A: The operation took four to five hours.

Q: What heart was used?

A: [The family of] a [dying] baby donated a heart. It was sad because we had to take the heart from a baby, but it felt better knowing that we were also saving a baby's life at the same time.

Q: Did the baby [who received the transplant] survive?

A: Yes, the baby survived. She went home three weeks after surgery. She is still alive today and is 18 years old.

Q: How has this event impacted your life today?

A: This was ... a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Helping kids live is a very good feeling. I learned firsthand how important it is to be an organ donor, and I wish more people [would] donate their organs.

Conclusion: Everyone should try to become an organ donor. We could save lots of lives if everyone donates their organs when they die. Some people could also donate their bodies to research, and we may be able to find cures for diseases. Doing these things could save someone's life.
