New Edge Networks Hosts Cross-Country Seminars on MPLS Networks; Initial seminar cities include Seattle, Dallas, and New York
Business Wire, Sept 4, 2006
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- New Edge Networks is hosting a series of complimentary cross-country seminars offering local businesses and communications consultants practical guidance on building private networks and the advantages of using MPLS technology.
MPLS, short for Multi-protocol Label Switching, enables businesses to converge their data, voice, and video applications over a single high-speed network and prioritize communications traffic for critical applications, such as Internet phone calls, streaming video, or video surveillance. This helps businesses cut monthly communications costs and boost operating efficiency.
New Edge Networks has scheduled half-day seminars in Seattle, Dallas, and New York, targeting locally based information technology managers and communications network consultants. Attendance is limited to 25 on a first-come basis. For more information and to register go to: www.newedgenetworks.com/register.
Jonathan Mapes, chief technology officer, and Brett Theiss, director of product management, both with New Edge Networks, will lead the seminars, which include a lunch buffet and a post-seminar networking reception. They will discuss the advantages of MPLS, network considerations, impacts on businesses, and how to evaluate network providers.
"There is tremendous confusion in the telecom market at a time when demand for network services is increasing faster than ever," said Greg Griffiths, vice president of marketing for New Edge Networks. "Our seminars bring focus and sensible guidance on building MPLS networks and leveraging new technology.
"The seminars are also an excellent forum for networking among their peers with common network challenges and considerations," Griffiths said.
Here are the dates and locations for the initial seminars. Other cities and dates will be set later this fall.
--Sept. 7, Bellevue, Wash., Courtyard Bellevue Downtown
--Sept. 12, Dallas, Marriott Dallas, Addison Quorum/Galleria
--Sept. 14, New York, Marriott Marquis Times Square.
New Edge Networks announced Aug. 23 that it is adding five classes of service for its MPLS network services. New Edge Networks will honor class of service across a customer's entire network, from customer location to customer location. Customers decide how they prioritize their business applications.
