Wells Fargo Wins #1 Rating in Consumer Online Banking from Watchfire® GomezPro; Wells Fargo also Wins Top Award in Corporate Online Banking from Global Finance Magazine

SAN FRANCISCO -- Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) has been ranked number one overall in the Q3 2005 Online Banker Scorecard by Watchfire(R) GomezPro(TM), which publishes a bi-annual scorecard for consumer-facing financial Web sites.
Wells Fargo, for the second time in a row, achieved best-in-class overall for its focus on customers. Watchfire GomezPro also recognized Wells Fargo for launching first-to-market tools for money management such as e-mail alerts; improved authentication for customer-to-customer money transfers; and integrating online brokerage, banking and bill pay services.

Watchfire GomezPro also recognized Wells Fargo's leadership in using technology for customer convenience with My Spending Report. The report, which has a patent pending, combines spending transactions from a customer's check card, credit card, checking account and bill pay in one convenient place, accessed through a secured, online banking session and updated automatically each day. Electronic and bill payment transactions are organized by familiar categories such as gas/automotive, groceries, ATM withdrawals, etc. My Spending Report provides the advantages of complex personal finance software without the expense and effort.

Wells Fargo received five additional awards from Global Finance including: (consumer) "Best Integrated Consumer Bank Site;" "Best Web Site Design," (corporate);" "Best Web Site Design;" "Best Integrated Corporate/Institutional Bank Site;" and "Best Information Security Initiatives."
Forbes.com just named Wells Fargo "Best of the Web" for single sign-on access to a wide array of services, including: checking, online bill pay, brokerage, mortgage, etc. According to Forbes.com, "the site manages to convey warmth and an attention to customer service."
