WASHINGTON -- Winning Technology Converts Digital Content to Motion Picture Film; Cost Effective Solution Accelerates Production Cycles

Siemens and CINE jointly presented Lasergraphics, Inc., the world's leading producer of high-resolution digital film recorders, with the first Siemens-CINE co-sponsored Excellence in Technology Innovation award during CINE's 46th Golden Eagle Film and Video Awards Gala in Washington, D.C.

The award recognizes Lasergraphics Producer 3 Film Recording System (P3) for its significant achievement in the category of "production process, and viewing experience of film, television, and broadband." Lasergraphics P3 records SD-4K digital content onto motion picture film to create the master negative from which theatrical release prints are produced.

"CINE is proud to join Siemens in honoring Lasergraphics with the Excellence in Technology Innovation award," said David L. Weiss, executive director, CINE. "Laser graphics' technology has great impact on the immediacy of filmmaking."

Siemens and CINE, along with industry executives from Discovery Communications, Eastman Kodak, Henninger Media Services, Clear Channel Entertainment Television, and National Geographic Television & Film selected Lasergraphics based on the criteria of creativity and audience appeal, effect on production, and adaptability. Lasergraphics P3 helps overcome the technical challenges involved in film recording, allowing professionals in the motion picture industry to easily, quickly, and cost-effectively, create top quality content to enhance an audience's viewing experience. The P3 has powerful capabilities, worldwide acceptance, and easily integrates with all technology platforms.

"Lasergraphics was the most qualified of five distinguished finalists," said Ed McDermid, vice president, North American Business Development, for Media & Entertainment at Siemens, who presented the award Tuesday night to Lasergraphics. "Their system demonstrates an ability to greatly enhance the workflows for producers and post production professionals worldwide."

"It is indeed an honor to be recognized by this panel of acclaimed industry experts," said Steve Klenk, vice president, Marketing and Sales, Lasergraphics, Inc. "We gratefully accept this award and the validation it gives to Lasergraphics' unique film recording technology."
