Ventura County Fair 2004 Attendance Again Over 300,000; 129th Annual Fair at Seaside Park Ventura ``One of the Best Ever''
Business Wire, August 16, 2004
VENTURA, Calif. -- The State of California's 31st Agricultural District, which operates the 12 day annual Ventura County Fair at Seaside Park Ventura, announced today that attendance for the 2004 Ventura County Fair was 300,527, the second time Fair attendance surpassed 300,000 and the second highest attendance in the Fair's 129 year history.
"We are very pleased with our attendance at this year's Fair. While overall attendance was just slightly below last year's record attendance of 308,000, we set new records this year in carnival sales and again exceeded $500,000 in the Junior Livestock Auction. Most of our concessionaries also reported their revenues were up. Clearly, our guests spent more dollars here at Seaside Park this year than ever before and our offerings from the Grandstand acts to the exhibitions were well received. We want to thank the thousands of people who joined us at the Fair this year. They have fun and help make the Fair a success so we can continue operating this great celebration of summer at no costs to taxpayers," said Ed Barlow, Chief Executive Officer of Seaside Park Ventura, home of the Ventura County Fair each August.
The Ventura County Fair is among the best entertainment buys in Southern California -- $7 general admission for adults, $4 for children 6-13 and seniors, children 5 and under free. Admission includes a full day of fun and all major Grandstand acts at no additional cost.
