Soleil Film Names Beneficiaries of 10% of its Profits from the Production of ``Miriam''

Business Wire,  August 16, 2004

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation and the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors named as recipients

Soleil Film, Inc. (OTC:SFLM) announced today that it has selected Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation and the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors as the beneficiaries of 10% of the company's share of any net profits it receives from "Miriam," the fourth feature film in the company's library, based on the true story of a woman who assumed a different identity to survive the Holocaust in Nazi-occupied Lithuania. The company recently launched a private placement of $3.5 million in restricted common stock, the first $300,000 of which will be used to complete the budget on "Miriam," which is scheduled to begin shooting in October.

About "Miriam"

"Miriam" is the heart-wrenching story of a woman who takes another's identity to survive the most horrible time of the 20th century. "The story of Miriam Shafer is an incredible story inspired by an incredible woman," according to writer/director Matt Cimber. "And even though many of the defining moments of her life take place during the Holocaust, this is only the beginning and the emphasis here is that this is the story of a woman," he added.

"A Woman for All Time" is the theme for "Miriam," inspired by the true story of one woman's survival and success, which takes place in Lithuania over a period of forty years, from the German occupation of World War II through the Soviet era. The killings in Kovno and Vilna in 1941 were some of the most horrific events of the Holocaust. The Jews were confined to a ghetto where hundreds were murdered. Thousands of others were taken to The Ninth Fort and shot by firing squads. It is in this terrible historic setting that Miriam Shafer, as a young girl, learns to survive by assuming another identity.

About Survivors of the Shoah Foundation

The Foundation was founded by Steven Spielberg in 1994, after completing "Schindler's List." The first goal of the Foundation was to collect testimonies of 50,000 Holocaust survivors, witnesses, liberators and rescuers. Its goal now is to use these testimonies as educational tools, with the mission of overcoming prejudice, intolerance, bigotry and the suffering they cause.

"I am very impressed with the work that is being done by the Foundation," said Kenneth Eade, President of Soleil Film. "In telling the story of `Miriam', the company felt that we had an obligation to make sure that the stories of those who perished and who survived are told. The Foundation has preserved the stories of thousands of survivors so they can be told `first person' for many generations to come," he added.

About The American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors

The American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors has been instrumental in the representation of the interests of Holocaust survivors and their children and grandchildren. In 1981, the Gathering established a national registry to document the lives of the survivors who came to the United States after World War II. The Registry was created to help survivors search for relatives and friends, and now includes over 185,000 records. In April 1993, the Registry was transferred to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
