BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2003
A detailed summary of the Amended Plan of Reorganization filed by Enron Corp. (ENRNQ) is now available on BankruptcyData.com (www.BankruptcyData.com), a bankruptcy research Internet site providing in-depth information on major bankruptcies. The Plan was filed on September 18, 2003 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. On December 2, 2001, Enron Corp. filed for Chapter 11, a case that at the time was listed as the largest U.S. corporate bankruptcy, according to the Bankruptcy Yearbook & Almanac.
According to Enron's Amended Plan of Reorganization, estimated recoveries for three major unsecured creditor groups of Enron have been increased. Unsecured creditors of Enron Corporation, Enron North America Corporation, Enron Power Marketing, Inc. are to receive 16.6%, 19.5%, and 22.5% of their respective claim amounts. Distributions are to be paid through a mixture of cash, litigation trust interests, and common stock of three going-forward businesses that will ultimately be separated from the bankruptcy proceedings: Portland General Electric, CrossCountry Energy, and Prisma Energy International. According to the Plan, Enron Common Equity Interests receive no distribution. Also available in the Plan Summary report are the financial projections provided by Enron through 2006.
Other recent plan summary reports available from www.BankruptcyData.com are Bethlehem Steel's (BHMSQ) Plan of Liquidation, Aladdin Gaming's First Amended Plan of Reorganization and Federal Mogul's (FDMLQ) Plan of Reorganization.
