SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2001

DigMedia Inc., a Vertical Service Provider (VSP) to media companies and content providers, today announced that its Digital Rights Management (DRM) toolkit, dBoxer, has adopted Windows Media Rights Manager 7 from Microsoft Corp.

With Microsoft's DRM technology, DigMedia will expand its platform for the secure distribution of digital media files for content providers and retailers.

"With Windows Rights Manager 7, dBoxer enables digital media to be securely distributed to millions of end-users," said Pedro Vargas, DigMedia CTO. "dBoxer is engineered to be truly agnostic for content owners, supporting a wide variety of DRM solutions and rules that govern use of audio and video content to ensure copyrights are enforced."

"By adding support for Windows Media DRM, DigMedia's tools will help content owners take advantage of the Windows Media broad reach and high-quality audio and video while maintaining control over their intellectual property," said Jonathan Usher, group product manager for Microsoft's Digital Media Division.

DigMedia's highly scalable platform allows dBoxer to work in conjunction with other DigMedia content management tools such as dSiteBuilder, dSCenario and dLocker. The DigMedia technology platform also seamlessly integrates with eBusiness applications, DRM solutions, and various compression formats and media players. Content owners now can explore new flexible business models with their online initiatives. With multiple licensing capabilities, DigMedia provides wider distribution of content under more control and ease-of-use.
