NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2001

IMSI(R), (OTCBB:IMSI), developer of design software including TurboCAD(R) and FloorPlan(R), and owner of ArtToday(R) and Design.NET, today announced the launch of the latest upgrade to its FloorPlan 3D Design Suite software.

FloorPlan 3D Design Suite v6 enables the user to design, visualize, plan, create blueprints, manage, and take a virtual tour of a home or office they've created in full, three-dimensional view.

"Over the past few years, IMSI has sold over 1 million copies of FloorPlan and received the prestigious `Editor's Choice' award from PC Magazine," said Geoffrey Koblick, president and CEO of IMSI.

"Now we've added more features and content to v6 and bundled it with two other great software packages, TurboProject(R) Express and TurboCAD Designer, at no extra cost to the consumer. Our manufacturers suggested retail price is $49.95 and this cost-competitive bundle will appeal to everyone involved in home or office remodeling and design."

FloorPlan makes getting started easier than ever. Users can browse through more than 1,000 fully editable HomeStyles(R) home plans from more than 50 leading residential designers and design firms from the United States and Canada.

A new Kitchen Showroom Design Kit allows users to choose from 15 varieties of today's most popular kitchen styles, giving them the option to start from a complete layout and simply make modifications to meet their needs. With more than 130 new 3D symbols added to the new content library for a total of more than 500 3D symbols, starting from scratch is easier than ever with more design options than any other software in this price-range.

Plus, five new FloorPlan 3D Symbols Packs containing more than 100 pre-drawn symbols in each pack are now available from IMSI for only $19.95 each.

FloorPlan also gives users the ability to walk through an entire house over the Internet using the VRML technology powered by RealNet(R) Virtual Reality Web Technology. Users can share their designs with anyone over the Internet and friends and family can tour a new home room-to-room as easily as playing a video game. All a viewer needs is a VRML-capable Web browser like Internet Explorer.

"The range of this package is phenomenal," said FloorPlan product manager, Cynthia Smith. "With so many powerful tools in one, consumers can design, visualize, plan, and even create final blueprints for construction. It meets the needs of interior designers, custom homebuilders, remodelers and hobbyists alike for designing floor plans from start to finish."

Precision Design Tools

FloorPlan is bundled with TurboCAD Designer computer-aided design software to give users added power and functionality. TurboCAD Designer allows users to create custom symbols to represent furniture and other fixtures and keep them in a furniture library for use in future designs.

TurboCAD Designer is also the easiest way to turn FloorPlan designs into final blueprints suitable for construction. It has the latest AutoCAD(R) file compatibility, Internet compatibility and features state-of-the-art TurboCAD instructional courseware making it easy for users to draft projects instantly with this powerful, precision CAD program.

The FloorPlan Blueprint Bridge can automate the process of converting FloorPlan files into professional looking architectural TurboCAD drawings. This application allows users to create full 3D wire frame views of models and organize professional presentations.

Users can also produce customizable print to scale options such as sheet size and use insertion tools for the foundation plan, roofs, window schedules, and plan views of different floors and views.

The Corel OCR Trace can convert scanned blueprints or print outs of existing floor plan drawings to fully editable, vector-based files for easy importing directly into TurboCAD Designer.

Advanced raster-to-vector functionality with features designed to accommodate more complex, larger drawings also include the ability to scan existing blueprints, clean up stray pixels and reduce the colors of a scanned image.
