Tekhnomol invest US$3m in soy meat - Company News - Brief Article

Eurofood,  July 4, 2002

Russian group Tekhnomol has invested US$3m (3.06m [euro]) in a plant located in Lytkarino (Moscow region) that will make a `soy meat`, according to the group`s general director Roman Don. Don said the construction investment involved the Russian government and regional administration.

The new plant`s production capacity is rated at the processing of 20 000 tonnes of soybean per year. Its main products will be soy flour, soy meat and soy oil, used as a food additive in edible oil-processing, confectionery, baking and other food production.

As for future plans, Don noted that the next two or three years will see a similar plant making the same products built elsewhere in the Moscow region. Furthermore, Tekhnomol is looking to set up and develop its own raw materials base (crop-growing) in the Amur region and Krasnodar territory.

The Tekhnomol group brings together nine companies involved in the production, processing and distribution of food products and ingredients.
